The Big Crocodile team is getting super excited  about heading up to the big smoke on the 20th October to take part in the greatest charitable functional fitness event ever (ever, ever!)

Battle Cancer is happening on the hallowed turf of London’s Olympia. An awesome blend of fitness, funky tunes and fabulous bits and bobs to buy (that’s where we come in). If you’re registered to take part, we’ll see you there - and if you’re interested in watching the action you can book spectator tickets HERE.

The Battle Cancer mission is to inspire, support and unite people with one goal: kicking cancer into the dust.

Fitness and fundraising combine to raise money and raise spirits and the Battle Cancer events attract thousands of competitors and supporters, from all walks of life and all skill levels - all with the same mission in mind. (We’re feeling all fired up just thinking about it).

Battle Cancer is the brainchild of powerlifter Scott Britton and CrossFitter Peter Williams whose lives (like so many people) have been affected by cancer. Their aim is simple: to raise as much money for cancer patients as they possibly can through their accessible, functional fitness events.

In 2016, Scott started fundraising with a Guinness World Record for the most amount of weight deadlifted. His aptly titled ‘Dead lifting the Titanic’ attempt quickly became a viral sensation and raised an impressive 30 thousand pounds for cancer charities.

Inspired by this achievement, the musclebound duo went on to hold a charity CrossFit competition which in turn sparked further events, culminating in the Battle Cancer events now taking place in London, Manchester & Berlin.

So what happens at a Battle Cancer event?

A jam packed day of competition, divided into a variety of levels, you can expect to see some spectacularly strong and fit teams of four lifting, crunching and flexing their way to to the podium. The day kicks off with registration and briefings (it’s all brilliantly well organised) and then the real drama happens. With a fab selection of food and drink stalls on site, you can rest assured that you’ll be well fuelled all day long too.

What’s the Big Crocodile Team going to be up to?

Find us at the Big Crocodile stand where we’ll be selling our spectacular sports and leisure wear. Choose Big Crocodile T.shirts, hoodies and more or buy yourself a special edition Battle Cancer T.shirt (we’re donating £5 from every sale to the cause - woop woop!). If you buy any of our brilliant Big Crocodilekey rings or stickers at the event we’ll donate ALL the money too! (What better reason to get yourself Big Crocodiled up!)

Being the social media-aholics that we are, we’ll be encouraging as many people as possible at Battle Cancer London to tag and share pics of their Big Crocodile purchases - so even if you can’t be there you can check out the #rockthecroc action on our insta feed

If you’re feeling inspired by the Battle Cancer concept and their incredible fundraising achievements then why not get involved?

You can donate, support or volunteer as well as taking part in future events or coming along to Battle Cancer London as a supporter. Find out more about it all HERE.
